100 New Volunteers Needed!

As Black Rock looks to add a contemporary worship service on Sunday morning, we need your help. It will take over 100 new volunteers‬ to help from the parking lot, to ushering, to kids, and tech. Will you step up to serve?

 Please read through the different roles below and either sign up with the Room For More Campaign form or under each serving role by using the application form.

Below are the specific serving roles you can apply for. Each role has a job description you can review along with
a video explaining more about the role.  Apply for a role to begin the process of serving! We will be in touch with
more information and next steps for you.

Ushers


A church Usher warmly welcomes congregants, assists with seating, distributes bulletins, and helps maintain order during services. They also support the pastoral staff by facilitating offerings and providing general assistance as needed.

Kids Church Volunteer


Directly impact the faith journey of young children by serving as a Kids Church Volunteer, where you’ll help them experience God’s love, connect with our church family, assist small group leaders in engaging discussions, and build meaningful mentoring relationships. Everything is ready for you, just show up and connect. If you don’t speak English well, don’t worry! We have some ways for you to be a part of the team and learn English as you serve.

Cafe Team

 

The cafe is so important in our church because it provides a place of fellowship for the church, it creates a warm, relaxed place for the congregation to connect before and after services. Sometimes we are the first to talk to them in the morning and it can help the congregation to be more at ease and at home when they are greeted with a nice cup of coffee and a warm smile. If you don’t speak English well, don’t worry! We have some ways for you to be a part of the team and learn English as you serve.

 

Parking Team


A church Parking attendant directs vehicles efficiently to ensure smooth traffic flow and maximize available space. They also assist guests with parking needs and offer a friendly first impression upon arrival.

Connection Center Volunteer


The church Connection Center Team warmly welcomes visitors, offering friendly greetings, helpful information, and a personal touch to make newcomers feel at home. They serve as the first point of connection, helping guests navigate the church and feel embraced by the community.

 

Shine Buddy

 

Your role as a Shine Buddy is to spend 1.25 hours with a child/individual with special needs in the “Shine” room,‬ age-appropriate Sunday school room or an appropriate area in the church.‬ This role involves 1:1 consistent and constant attention to the individual in your care to help‬ them interact and integrate with their peers and activities.

 

Kid’s Guest Reception


The Kids Guest Reception Team greets families with warmth and care, ensuring a smooth and welcoming check-in experience for children. They provide information, answer questions, and help kids feel safe, excited, and ready to engage in a fun, faith-filled environment.

 

Safety Team

 

The church Safety team ensures a safe and secure environment during services and events by monitoring the premises and responding to any potential issues. They work discreetly to protect congregants while supporting the overall mission of the church.

 

Prayer Team


The Prayer Serving Team prays with people who attend Sunday services, asking God to encourage them and meet their needs. Team members are scheduled to serve in our Prayer Room and Worship Center.

 

Worship Musician

 

Black Rock Worship is a team of Christ followers committed to joyfully leading the Church into the presence of God. We are active participants in His kingdom and have the opportunity to help facilitate a space where people can meet with Him. We desire to do so by being bearers of the fruit of the Spirit, the nature of Christ.

 

Contemporary Vocalist

Light Board Operator

 

The Light Board Operator is charged with changing the light cues between the elements of a Sunday service. The lighting design each week enhances the worship experience for those worshiping in the Worship Center and online.

 

Camera Operator

 

In this new age of more online viewership, Camera Operators play an important role in helping people watching online experience the service in a way that will connect them to God.

 

Pro Pres Projection Operator

 

The ProPres/Projection Operator is responsible for all content that is sent to the large screen at the front of the Worship Center including song lyrics, announcement slides, videos, sermon slides and other projected elements. This provides information to the congregation about programs happening at BRC and helps those attending services to worship God through song and sermon application.

Light Board Programmer

 

The Light Board Programmer is charged with designing and programming the light cues for the services. The lighting design each week enhances the worship experience for those worshiping in the Worship Center and online.

 

Switcher

 

The Switcher is charged with producing the online livestream to Facebook, YouTube and BRC’s website. The stream includes switching between cameras during all elements of the service and switching between cameras and ProPresenter slides during the service. This role helps all of those who are unable to attend the service in person to worship God through our online platforms.
