Jesus loves kids and so do we! Our goal is to partner with and equip families, and grow together in the knowledge and love of Jesus.
Through age-specific lessons, activities, and small groups, children ages birth-Grade 5 learn biblical truths and real-life lessons that they can apply to their lives every week. They will experience the love of God through the truth of the gospel, which in turn will lead them to Love God, Love People and Serve Our World.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I take my child into the Worship Center?
Kids are a high priority to Jesus and to us! That is why we encourage you to drop off your kids, birth – Grade 5, to our engaging Kids Ministry, where they can learn about Jesus and have fun with their peers in a safe, age-appropriate environment. If you’d like to worship together as a family we ask that you use our Family Worship Room where families, with kids ages 4 and under, can worship together while watching a live broadcast of what’s happening in the Worship Center. Moms can watch the service while nursing, changing, and caring for their babies in the Mom’s Nursing Room, adjacent to the Family Worship Room. Our hope is for the Worship Center to be a place for adults to focus on hearing the Word of God.
What precautions is Black Rock Kids taking with regards to COVID-19?
All rooms are carefully cleaned and sanitized after each use. We do ask that children who have shown any symptoms of a contagious disease (such as fever, vomiting, or diarrhea) within the last 24 hours not be brought to the preschool or children’s area. We want you to feel safe while in the church building.
We are following the latest guidelines released by the State of Connecticut and the Town of Fairfield, and as of February 28, 2022, mask wearing will be voluntary for all students, kids and adult volunteers attending Black Rock Church programming.
What will my child learn at Black Rock Kids?
The Bible is the most amazing book ever written, and we strive to bring its stories to life through creative activities and discussions that keep kids engaged. We want every child to love God’s Word and understand the value of applying it to their lives. We know they’ll have fun each week as they learn about who God is through games, activities, small groups, and video teaching.
How do I check-in my child at Black Rock Kids?
On your first visit, visit our Kids Welcome Desk and one of our trained volunteers will be happy to help you. To check your child in, we’ll need some information at that time, including a family member’s name, your child’s name and birthday, your address, your phone number, and any special instructions. We’ll be there every step of the way, right up to when you drop your kids off at the appropriate room, so feel free to ask questions!
If you have already registered then use one of our check-in kiosks. Enter your last name or the last four digits of your phone number. Select your child’s name and service time and wait for your child’s tag to be printed. A trained volunteer will assist you if needed. To ensure their security, an adult MUST be present for check-in and check-out and your child will not be released without presentation of your corresponding tag.
How does Black Rock Kids ensure my kid is safe and secure?
At Black Rock Kids, safety is one of our highest priorities. That’s why we have a secure check-in system. Upon check-in, you’ll receive matching identification tags. Your child will need to wear their name tag sticker and you will need to keep the matching tag. After the service, you’ll show the leader your matching tag in order for your child to be released from their room.
Every Black Rock volunteer leader is screened, participates in a background check, and receives appropriate training from our staff. Additionally, our hallways are monitored by background-checked security during each experience to make sure your child stays safe and secure.
I have a child with special needs. Is there anything I should know before I take my kid to Black Rock Kids?
If you have a child with special needs who might need a little extra support to participate, we’d love to partner with you to make their experience amazing! Just let us know by emailing Cindy Kydes at shine@blackrock.org
