Serve on a Team

Lead a group of 8-12 children in 1st-5th grade by engaging them in the lesson or activity, connecting them to one another, and modeling worship and active listening.

Be a one-on-one buddy to help our children and students with special needs participate in our Sunday Morning or Weeknight Kids and Student Ministry programs. Training provided.

Special Events take many hands to pull off. Help setup and decorate, run games and activities, manage food tables, and more. This is perfect for those who cannot commit to a set serving schedule. Serve as needed.

Facilitate discussion about the weekly lesson with a small group of children. While leading the group, you will also forge a mentoring relationship with them so that they learn more about Jesus and grow in their faith.

In this new age of more online viewership, Camera Operators play an important role in helping people watching online experience the service in a way that will connect them to God. No experience necessary!

Support Black Rock’s ministry goals and mission statement by helping out with Realm, which is our main database and communication tool. Track and manage data to run smoothly with regular maintenance and organization.

At Sanctuary, we get close! Help new guests find their home at Sanctuary by lovingly welcoming them into the community. Connect Team helps people feel seen, known, and loved. We greet people before and after service, at Connect Parties, and special events such as Midweek.

As a member of the Contemporary Choir you’ll have the opportunity to bring a fuller sound to our contemporary worship services and special worship events throughout the year.

As a part of the contemporary worship band, you’ll have the opportunity to honor God and inspire people by playing modern worship music at our Sunday services.

At Sanctuary we choose honor. Honor the space we use by neatly putting away everything we use to create Sanctuary’s space. Many hands make light work!

At Sanctuary we have fun! Our Design Team lays the foundation of the fun and welcoming atmosphere Sanctuary strives for. We set up banners, decor, tables, merch and more for weekly service and special events.

Comfort those who are grieving the passing of a loved one by providing a light luncheon, for approximately 3 hours following funerals. Food preparation skills and the gift of hospitality are helpful qualities for this team.

Greet people as they enter the church building and help them connect with Black Rock resources. This is a crucial serving role as you are often one of the first people a guest encounters at Black Rock!

Assist Guest Reception Director with data entry, mailings and event organization in order to best serve those who are new to church. Flexible hourse with the opportunity to do some task from home and/or bring children along to church while volunteering

Serve at the Guest Reception area before and after our services to help first-time guests fill out the guest form and connect with our church. Answer their questions and contact first-time guests during the week to follow up.

Mentor our high school students, build relationships, and co-lead a small group discussion. Allow God to use you as you help students grow deeper into their faith!

Help parents connect with Black Rock community and enroll their children in our Kids Ministry programs. If you have a desire to help new families connect with our church, you are a great fit for this team!

The Light Board Operator will be responsible for changing the light cues between service elements, including during the worship sets, announcements, the sermon and videos.

The Light Board Programmer is responsible for designing and programming the light cues for the services. The lighting design each week enhances the worship experience for those worshiping in the Worship Center and online.

Share encouragement and love as you prepare and deliver meals to those who are recovering from serious illnesses, surgeries and other difficult situations.

Mentor our middle school students, build relationships, and co-lead a small group discussion. Allow God to use you as you help students grow deeper into their faith!

Open your home to Global Partner visiting Black Rock! As a member of our hospitality team you’ll host Global Partners for the duration of their stay, offering them either a room or an entire house, according to your ability.

If you’d like to employ your gifts to engage our church to pray, give, and go in support of God’s work around the world, these are the opportunities for you. Serving commitment varies by role, but generally, it will be 1-3 hours weekly between January-March. Volunteer opportunities include: event planning and setup, set design and construction, administrative assistance, prayer support, and Wednesday kids’ programs.

Care for babies and preschoolers while moms meet to grow in their faith and receive support. Help on the second or the fourth Tuesdays each month. No experience required but must love children – training provided.

In between services, help those who attend our church to take their next step in owning their faith. As you assist people in using our website and Realm app, you’ll help them identify and signup for groups, seminars, serving teams and other connection opportunities at Black Rock.

Open House is the event where our guests learn more about who we are and take their next steps to connect with our church. Help us set up for this event including the meal and information tables, then help with cleanup after the event.

Our parking team does not just point to where cars should go. Did you know that our parking hosts actually have reserved spots for families and are the very first people to identify our guests? The experience people have with our church actually starts out in our parking lot, so this is a great opportunity to help connect with God and our church. There are 3 different shifts to pick from.

Join our team to pray with those in the church family and guests during our services in the Prayer Room. Help connect those who ask for prayer to additional growth resources.

Help people connect with God each week through operating lighting, audio, video, and projection.

The ProPres/Projection Operator is responsible for all content that is sent to the large screen at the front of the Worship Center which provides information to the congregation about programs happening at BRC and helps those attending services to worship God through song and sermon application.

Engage Resource Center visitors in conversation and based on our inventory, suggest physical and digital resources that will support their growth in areas such as prayer, Bible study, relationships and parenting, Christian living and more. By helping them connect with these resources, hosts will help those who attend Black Rock to continue to grow in their faith even after they leave our services!

Help recruit new volunteers by connecting Black Rock attendees to serving opportunities that match their skills and interests. Coaches connect with potential volunteers via phone, email and/or in-person at the church.

Help create new sets for sermon series and programs using props, lights and light construction. Experience in painting, graphic design and construction preferred.

Support our Student Ministry by helping prepare and organize the many initiatives Student Ministry has for them. This is a great opportunity for those who are gifted adminitratively and/or would like to help during weekdays or flexible hours.

The Switcher is charged with producing the online livestream to Facebook, YouTube and BRC’s website. The stream includes switching between cameras during all elements of the service and switching between cameras and ProPresenter slides during the service. This role helps all of those who are unable to attend the service in person to worship God through our online platforms.

Be a part of the team who produces our services! Our tech crew members serve in different areas of production including cameras, projection, sound and lights. Training provided.

As a member of the worship team you will play a role in leading the congregation in worshiping God in a traditional music style.

Support those in need as you provide transportation to church services and health care appointments.

Welcome people as they enter the worship service, guide them their seats and model a worshipful attitude. This is a crucial serving role since you will be welcoming people into the presence of God!

Create, produce and/or edit videos for our services and programs. This is your chance to be part of a team that will have an active role in our journey for years to come!
