Pray & Give to Global Missions
At Black Rock Church, we are passionate about introducing Jesus to the 2 billion people worldwide who have not yet heard about Him.
We achieve this by actively supporting and praying for over 50 Global Partners. Hundreds of our members regularly intercede for their work, their families, and those they minister to. We are consistently told by our partners that they feel the impact of our prayers, which provides immense encouragement. Thank you for your daily commitment to praying for them.
Here are a few ways that you can be praying for our Global Partners
Pray For Open Doors
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message”
— Colossians 4:2-3
Pray For
Boldness
“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel”
— Ephesians 6:19
Pray That God’s Word Will Spread
“Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you.”
— 2 Thessalonians 3:1
Pray For Protection
“Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer.”
— 2 Thessalonians 3:2
Pray For Effective Ministry
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
— John 15:5
Pray for each of these ideas for the Global Partners that you are partnering with. Additionally, take a moment to send them an email saying you are praying for them today. They would be greatly encouraged to hear of your support.
We as a church pray for our Global Partners, but we also give to the Global Ministry budget that financially supports our partners and their work. They have given up their lives and work to go overseas and bring the Gospel and by raising support from individuals and churches. As a church, our Missions budget supports each of our partners with hundreds or thousands of dollars each month for their ministry work, their living expenses, health insurance, retirement and other expenses they have.
1 John 3:16-18 states this about being generous with our giving:
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
Global Missions Fund
At Black Rock, people who wish to make a Global Missions contribution must designate their giving to Global Missions. Online giving must be designated to the Missions Fund. Those using a giving envelope must also indicate Missions Fund. Undesignated giving is automatically applied to the General Fund and does not go to our Global Partners and Global Missions Fund.
Make A Commitment Today
During Missions Week, we ask Black Rock attenders to make a Global Missions pledge. We encourage people to pray and ask the Lord what He would have them give to Missions in the year ahead, and then fulfill that pledge by the end of the year.

People often ask if their individual giving to Missions really makes a difference. As a church we know that together we can support each of our 50+ Global Partners as each of us gives to our Global Missions Budget as the Lord moves us to.
- Your giving helps us support kids to go to school in Honduras
- Your giving is helping us start 40 house churches in the Middle East in the next three years
- Your giving is helping us dig wells in India where they are then planting churches in those same areas as the wells
- Your giving is helping us translate the Bible for those living in Iran
