Andrew McMahon

I’m passionate about equipping the next generation to stand firm in the truth of the gospel in a world throwing lies at them every day. I grew up in Newtown, Connecticut, and was raised in the Catholic Church. I first encountered the gospel in 2022 through a friend’s podcast, which led to me attending Black Rock. In the next two years, I moved to Missouri and Texas, where I gained experience at various discipleship schools and camps. This fall, I felt called to return to New England to pursue ministry here. In October 2024, I joined the Black Rock staff as an intern in Student Ministry. I enjoy weightlifting, playing sports, and anything that involves being outdoors.

I have been coming to Black Rock Church since 2006 and became an official member in 2009. Throughout my time at BRC, I have been actively engaged in various ministries such as the care team, guest connections, kids ministry and other areas. I’m a proud mother to my adult child, Michelle. Maddie Mosquera

A psychology and social work major at Sacred Heart University, raised in Wilton, CT. My journey with Black Rock began in high school through my best friend’s invitation to Fusion. At the 2022 Fall Retreat, I felt a profound sense of the Lord’s presence for the first time and surrendered my life to Christ. I actively serve in Kids Ministry, Student Ministry, Translation Team, and the Sanctuary Worship Team. I love worship music, reading Scripture, and spending time with family & friends!

I grew up in Cleveland and moved to Connecticut with my husband Kevin in 1998 when he joined the staff at Black Rock. We served here for 9 years and were thrilled when God brought us back in 2020. I have two amazing children, Noah and Hanna: one lovely daughter-in-law, Katie, and a precious grandson named Leo.

Mondel Teka

I’ve been coming to Black Rock Church for 9 years with my beautiful daughter, McKenzie, who is 12 years old. I consider BRC my home away from home. I was privileged to serve in the kids ministry for many years. Currently, I lead the single moms group and facilitate a women’s Bible study. When I’m not serving, I enjoy attending Bible studies and my community group. I live in Trumbull, and I’m a full time student training to become a cardiovascular technologist.

Pete Schirmann

My wife, Sharon, and I have been married for 54 years. We’ve attended Black Rock for 25 years. For many years, I organized the Bridgeport short-term adult missions program and have also served as a community group leader. I enjoy helping people understand the Bible more clearly and have led many adult discipleship classes. I’ve also served on the Men’s Weekend planning team. As a deacon, I welcome the opportunity to connect people with resources during times of need.

My wife, Jill, and I started attending Black Rock in 2010 and joined a newly married couples group. Our 3 boys, Isaac (12), Oliver (9) and Simon (9), have been in kids ministry programs at BRC since they were babies. Jill has served with Mom’s of the Rock, and I’ve helped to lead Dads of the Rock. I also serve in our church cafe. I joined the deacons team in June 2024 and look forward to helping meet the practical needs of our church family through this ministry.

Dawn Kerr

I began attending Black Rock Church with my daughter in February 2018. My serving roles include care deaconess and financial coach, kids ministry and the Tapestry (single adult) planning team. I have volunteered as a treasurer with various non-profit organizations and also operate a small bookkeeping business. I enjoy serving our church through Black Rock Cares.

Janet Jobst

My husband, Brandt, and I have been married since 2009, and we’ve been blessed with 4 children: Jude, Mickey, Hudson and Isla. I’ve attended Black Rock since 2003 and served in kids ministry, marriage ministry, on a worship team and led a young couples community group. I work as a geriatric physical therapist and live with my family in Fairfield. It’s a privilege to serve on the deacons team where I’m able to assist those in our church family who are facing challenging times.

My wife, Margo, and I started attending Black Rock Church in 1997 and live within walking distance of BRC. We have been blessed with 2 lovely young adult daughters and a wonderful son-in-law. I serve on the prayer team. Margo serves as a BRC greeter and is active with Urban Impact. We’ve also hosted a small group in our home for 30 years. I currently own and operate 2 sales businesses in Fairfield. I’ve served as a deacon for 2 years and enjoy helping people in the BRC family.

Tracey DuRivage

I’ve been coming to Black Rock Church for 23 years. On my very first visit to BRC, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior! I’ve served in kids ministry as a Vacation Bible School director and Sunday School teacher. I’ve also supported student ministry as a small group leader and nurse at retreats and short-term missions trips. After serving with Black Rock Cares in various ways, I joined the deacons team in June 2024. I’m a Nurse Case Manager at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. I have 3 young adult children and live in Stratford.

Joe DeMarco

My wife, Jen, and I have been married since 2008 and have been blessed with 4 children: Joey, Ralph, Willow and Lucy. We began attending Black Rock shortly after our move to Fairfield in 2020. I’ve had the privilege of serving in kids ministry (middle school) and participated in several mission trips to the Dominican Republic. I am the co-founder of a tech startup company in the fitness industry. I joined the deacons team in June 2024 and look forward to serving our church family through this ministry.

I’ve been a Black Rock Church member for many years and have served in various roles with Black Rock Cares, including financial director and now as a deacon. In this role, I enjoy helping those in our church family with their practical needs. Our mission is to assist people with their financial decisions, so they can manage their funds in a God-honoring, responsible way. I’m a retired school teacher and live in Trumbull.

Steven Thorne

My wife Sherry and I have attended and served at BRC since 2001. We reside in Fairfield, CT, and have two adult children and two grandchildren. I have served in various roles at BRC: marriage mentor, Community Group leader, Co-leader of Kairos class Bible study, one of two Facilitator teams that introduced The Starting Point/Next Chapter ministry at BRC, and served on the BOE 2012-2016 and 2019-2022. After a 39-year career at GE, I retired as a Corporate Officer in 2012.

Kerry Jelinek

I am a native Midwesterner. After moving to Trumbull at the age of seven, my family began to attend Black Rock and I put my faith in Christ after engaging with our Sunday Kids program. Following graduation from Indiana University, I served with Cru on college campuses in Michigan, spent a year living in the Middle East and two years in Florida. In 2002, I joined the full-time staff at Black Rock. In addition to my work here, I am a chaplain serving the WNBA professional basketball league.

Prior to joining BRC, I worked in the financial services industry. I have a B.A. in Economics from Fairfield University. I married my wife Carolynn in 1989 and we have 3 grown children. I love learning about global missions and what God is doing on the earth today. My position at BRC allows me to combine my love of travel with supporting our Global Partners around the world.

Cindy Chiriboga

I moved from Ecuador to Fairfield in 1998. I live with my three daughters and enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, listening to worship music, and watching movies. I joined Black Rock staff working with Kids Ministry in the Nursery for 14 years and now I am part of the Shine Ministry. It is a blessing being able to support kids and families with varying abilities.

Susan Beniston

I love creating engaging and impactful experiences for kids and parents. Originally from Guyana, I pursued a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College in London. It was during this time that I met my husband, Keith, and we got married in 2000. In 2003, we relocated to the US. We are proud parents to two incredible daughters, Olivia (2004) and Victoria (2007). Our journey with BRC began in 2014, and it has truly become our home away from home. I love baking and having a nice cup of tea with friends and family.

Michelle Adorno

I’ve attended Black Rock Church since 2017. During this time, I’ve actively contributed to various teams, including Ushers, Tech, and Kids Ministry. In November 2021, I took on the role of Café & Kitchen Manager on staff. My family consists of four children – three boys and one girl. I find tranquility in watching the waves crash on the sand at the beach, and I also enjoy playing Bingo. Above all, my favorite pursuit is deepening my understanding of God through Jesus. My spiritual journey has been captivating and I’m excited to discover where it leads my family and me. Feel free to visit the Café; I’d be delighted to meet you.

Angela Olivera

I was born in Peru and lived there until I was 17. It was always my dream to come to America since I was a little girl; The Lord made it possible! I enjoy long walks in nature and spending time with my family and dog. My favorite book and character in the Bible is Daniel for his wholehearted devotion and unmovable faith. My favorite Psalm is 23 because I once was a lost sheep and found the true Shepherd who guides me and is with me every single day. Finally, my favorite verse is Ephesians 6:10 because it reminds me constantly that my everyday strength comes only from Him.

I was born and raised in the valley, the Naugatuck valley that is. From a young age, I knew I was created to create, so after studying film and working in production for 10 years I joined the staff at Black Rock where I get to combine my love for Jesus, people, and my passion for storytelling. When I’m not behind the lens, I’m likely spending time with my wife Tessa (she’s pretty rad) and our two cats Millie and Mochi. I’m also a car guy and love cruisin’ in my ‘87 Buick Turbo, and helping with Black Rock’s Cars Ministry; helping to pair people in need with reliable cars.

I began attending Black Rock as a teenager in 1977. In 1985, I joined the BRC pastoral staff as an intern and now have the joy of being Senior Pastor. I’ve spent my entire ministry journey at Black Rock because there are no better people to do life with, anywhere. My wife Jen and I love getting any time we can with our adult kids: daughter Caileigh; son Parker and his wife Hunter. Taking walks on wooded trails is my favorite pastime and a good lobster roll is my favorite treat…CT-style of course.

I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and came to CT at the age of 8. I majored in Marketing at Central CT State University. After graduating, I married my wife Kira in 2019. I’ve held many positions in my career but have always had a heart to serve God. I had the privilege of joining Black Rock in 2023 as a staff member and I’m excited to go on the journey God has planned. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, reading/writing, and cooking up something new.

I grew up in NY before graduating from Sacred Heart University. I then felt God calling me into full-time ministry with Youth with a Mission in Denver, CO. I served there for 5 years, doing outreach in China and Brazil, counseling students and staff development. In 2022, I started working for Black Rock Church to fulfill a desire to be back in ministry and be a part of what God is doing in Fairfield County. I live with my husband Ron and son Charlie and we love the beach, going for walks, and eating ice cream!!

Michelle Strusa-Hyatt

Born and raised in Nashua, NH with Thai roots! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Service Administration from Springfield College, which is where I met my husband, Byran. We started attending BRC in 2019 and quickly got involved. My previous experience was in criminal justice. Jobs/places lived have varied vastly but there has always been a constant – serving the Lord in some way. Both my husband and I are big foodies, enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with family, friends, and our dog Reese. We are looking forward to the arrival of our baby boy in Feb 2024!!

I love to sing and worship. I am someone who believes that I was born to worship God. Originally from Jamaica, W.I, I have been attending Black Rock since 2004. I have made myself available to serve over the years as a High School leader in Fusion for 4 years, Kids Ministry, Guest Connections, and singing in both traditional and contemporary worships. I have been married to Leo since 1994, we have two boys: Leo Jr. and Joshua. I also love to read, bake and sew.

Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, my family moved to Connecticut in 2018 so my husband, Matthew could pursue a career in manufacturing. Matt and I have been married since 2015, and we have 2 kids, Lincoln (born 2017) and Sawyer (born 2020). My background in education and performance art collide in my role as Family Events Coordinator where I get to create fun, engaging spaces for families to connect and grow in their love for the Lord. I love morning coffee, family dance parties, and any combination of chocolate and peanut butter.

I started attending Black Rock Church in 2001. As a “transitioning” catholic I found a new home where I could grow in my faith and expand my relationship with God. I married in 1992 to the perfect woman! We have 4 kids and 9 grandchildren. My career has been focused in IT, and through that experience I’ve learned how I can serve God in the Tech area at Black Rock Church. I retired mid-2022 and am now dedicating my time to supporting Tech and the Worship Team.

I grew up in Connecticut. I have the honor of calling Melissa Ford-Gibson my wife and being a father of four and G-Pa to my precious granddaughter. I have 20+ years of experience in multiple facets of construction and home improvement. I received my Masters of Divinity in Chaplaincy from HBIU. I’ve also volunteered for many seasons as a basketball coach. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, eating good food, and sport/comedy events. I’m a Yankees, Knicks, and Raiders fan. I like sports but I love Jesus.

My wife Lisa and I have been attending Black Rock since we moved to Fairfield in 1993. We have been blessed and privileged to serve at BRC in various areas, including Pre-school ministry along with each of our (now adult) children, Lauren, Catherine and Christian. Other roles in which I have served include: Church Treasurer and F&P Committee for 13 years, Community Group Leader, Marriage Mentor (with Lisa), and Starting Point facilitator. On March 31, 2022, I retired after a 47 year career as a Certified Public Accountant (20 years with KPMG and 27 with Arthur Andersen).

I grew up attending Black Rock and was active in Student Ministry. After graduating from Dartmouth College, where I studied English and Economics, I returned to CT and to Black Rock. During the week, I work as an Economic Consultant. I am passionate about God’s Word and teaching it in an accessible way. I love serving our church’s children and seeing them grow in their knowledge and love for the Lord. In my free time, I like to hang out with my two brothers and eat yummy Korean food.

Leo Wagner

I married my wife Erica on 10-10-10 in France. We live in Wilton with our five adopted children. I began at East Carolina University and later joined the Marines. Once honorably discharged I went into law enforcement. I later ran Global Security programs for Reebok, Boston Scientific, and Iron Mountain. I now have had the privilege of working with Global Missions. I’m very excited to use the skill sets that the Lord has blessed me with, to protect and serve our missions teams.

Born and raised in Trumbull, CT, I have always loved New England. I met my wife Bri, at Nyack College where we both pursued ministry degrees. We have served in ministry together since 2012, starting in New Canaan, then up to Williston Vermont, and returning to CT to Black Rock in 2022. We love to hike, bike, and camp with our three kids. We are expectant and excited to see how God moves and works through the ministry here at Black Rock reaching the New Englanders that we love.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT. Started coming to Black Rock in 2019. Got involved with Sanctuary, Fusion, Sunday School, and Summer Adventure. Love getting the opportunity to serve and try different things. I went to Housatonic and received an associate’s in social work. Some of my first childhood memories are from Black Rock. I even met my husband at Fusion! Since then, I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Christian Ministries, but while in school I returned home every summer to work at Summer Adventure. I have a heart for sharing the gospel in word and deed both here in New England and globally. I love getting to live out this passion at Black Rock. When I’m not at church, I love being outside and spending time with family and friends.

Originally from Northcentral PA, I moved to Connecticut in 2021 after living in Nairobi, Kenya with my husband, Jamie. I graduated from Eastern University with a BA in Youth Ministry and Dance, and I’m excited to see how the Lord will continue to use these passions of mine to bring students and other people closer to Him. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, being outside, and spending time with my friends, family, and cat Gracie.

Vanesiah Mawhinney

Originally from Boston, my husband and I have had the privilege of joining the Black Rock staff in August 2022. Working in kids ministry has always been a huge part of my life and I am grateful to be able to work alongside such a great team to bring the gospel to the children and their families. I love singing, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family. In my free time, I find joy in making a quality cup of coffee and resting by the water.

In 2022 my wife, Vanesiah, and I were blessed with the opportunity to move to Connecticut in order to work at Black Rock. We grew up in the Greater Boston area, met at church, and got married in the summer of 2021. I have a huge heart for shepherding other Christ-followers and walking through life with them. My family instilled a huge love for board games and puzzles in me. I also enjoy watching my favorite teams, the Celtics and Patriots, especially when they’re beating the Knicks and the Jets.

I am originally from Colorado and began working at BRC in 2020. I moved out to Connecticut with my husband, Tom, who is pursuing a career as a CRNA. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, skiing, volleyball, crafting, board games, and working out. I have been on the Pastoral staff since 1997, serving as Executive and Global Mission Pastor. After graduating from Gordon College, I served in the Air Force for six years (flew a desk!) and subsequently graduated from Gordon Conwell Seminary. I am married to Susan, a pediatrician and we have three adult children and eight grandchildren. I currently have the privilege of assisting Pastor Gaylord in the Care ministry of Black Rock.

I moved to Fairfield in April 2021 and shortly after God led me to Black Rock. I jumped right into Bible studies, small groups, and the Shine Ministry with our youngest son. I married Steve in 2017. We have a blended family – 6 grown children, plus 1 amazing little one together and 3 wonderful grandchildren. During our “off” time, we love trying new foods, going on adventures, reading God’s Word, and spending time with our family! I am honored to be a part of the Shine Ministry and the Black Rock team.

I have been a member of Black Rock Church for over 20 years. My husband and I both found our relationship with the Lord through Black Rock. My 3 children loved attending Sunday School and the youth programs. Over the years I’ve served in a number of different ministries and have been an Usher for the past 6 years. I have a heart for serving and am honored to be on staff in the Serving Ministry where I can help others get involved and serve the Lord at Black Rock Church.

I grew up in Old Saybrook, CT, and graduated with a Bachelors in Business and Professional Leadership from Southeastern University. I moved to South Carolina after high school and lived there for 4 years before returning to CT. When I’m not busy traveling or looking for the best “hole in the walls,” you can find me strolling the rocky beaches of New England at sunset or at a coffee shop with a warm chai and book in hand.

I retired in 2015 after working with the same investment banking firm for 28 years. Jack Zimmermann

I have been a member of Black Rock Church since 2001. During that time I have been involved with 2 separate building committees and also have been a member of the Property and Finance committee. I have been involved with a community group since their inception at Black Rock Church. I also serve on the boards of Camp-of-the-Woods and Elevate Bridgeport, and am the Teaching Director for the Fairfield evening Community Bible Study. I currently work in the financial services industry. I have 3 grown children and 2 grandsons.

I first started attending Black Rock in 2017 and got involved with the Young Adults Ministry (Sanctuary). I have always had a passion for graphic design and using my creativity for the building up of God’s kingdom. I get to joyfully create the weekly sermon art, social media graphics, signage around the building, and much more. I also get to work with my husband Bruce at Black Rock who is the Visual Arts Manager on staff. I love to read, spend time with friends and family and try out all the yummy restaurants CT has to offer!

Camila Pedersen

I was born and raised in Brazil and have been in the US since 2015. I came to study and met my husband Matt in the summer of 2019 and by Christmas of that year, we were already married! I’m a coffee, hiking, Netflix, ping-pong, and dog lover. I started coming to BRC in 2016 and was very involved with Sanctuary, which gave me friends like family here in the US. When the second floor was inaugurated I remember seeing all the brand new empty desks and I said to my then-fiance “who knows maybe one day I’ll sit in one of these desks!” A few months later I was interviewing with Josh to be his assistant. I started part-time and since April 2021 I’ve taken another role assisting the Care Ministry and I absolutely love being a part of this amazing staff at BRC.

I am a Connecticut native and one of Black Rock’s pastors, serving first responders and citizens in crisis as an emergency services chaplain. I’m a passionate student of the Bible and theology, and also preach, teach, and lead small groups. I am a bi-vocational pastor, working full time in public safety. I enjoy reading, learning, music, coffee, and preparing my next sermon or conference talk.

I was raised in Newtown, CT and have been attending Black Rock since some friends invited me in middle school. After high school I pursued a marketing degree at The University of Alabama (Roll Tide) and finished up my degree at UCONN. After 8 years of leading worship as a volunteer, I joined the staff team in 2017. I’m passionate about equipping and empowering people to serve God with their musical and production gifts and abilities. For fun I enjoy hiking, skiing, and working on my Jeep.

I’m a singer, musician, producer, and worship leader. I’ve been at BRC since 2009. I’m excessively creative and love finding new ways to use music and media to honor God and inspire people. I went to Wheaton College, graduated from Fairfield University, and have a master’s degree from Columbia University. My wife Kate and I were married in 2007. We now live in Fairfield with our three young kiddos Max, Everly, and Lucy. I enjoy camping, hiking, skateboarding, skiing, and riding mopeds.

I love helping people know God and live our best lives following Jesus. Married to Maria since 1998, we have five kids: Eli, Zoe, Ian, Ava & Ivy. I grew up in West Africa and Indiana and love the outdoors, basketball and documentaries. I majored in Economics at Washington University in St. Louis, then worked for an insurance company before earning a Master of Divinity at Yale University. Answering my call to ministry, I interned at Black Rock before joining full-time in 2003.

Black Rock has been our church home since 1994. Bill and I raised our 4 children here and have been involved in many areas of church life. As a geriatric social worker in home care for 30+ years, I’m glad to serve in the Care Ministry by helping those in our church family who need additional comfort and support. I’m also invested in Global Missions and have had the privilege of serving on the Board of Missions several times.

I grew up in and love living in New England. I worked with youth and young adults for most of my ministry, but have also been a Lead Pastor and Worship Pastor. I have a passion to raise up leaders to see the next generations follow Jesus.. I’m married to Kerrie and have two adult children, Noah and Hanna. We lived in Australia for 8 years and love to travel, cook, go on “eating adventures”, roast coffee, play games, vintage motorcycles, and spending time with young people.

I was born and raised in Connecticut before I double majored in youth ministry and pre-med from Liberty University. After graduating, I married the love of my life in 2018. We moved to New Hampshire, where I developed a student ministry for two years. When I finished my M. Div. at Gordon-Conwell, God called me to serve at BRC. When I’m not helping students know Jesus, I enjoy going to the gym, playing board games (I get a bit too competitive), and cooking new recipes.

Pauline Santos

I joined Black Rock’s staff in 2016 after serving with Sanctuary, our Young Adults Ministry. My gifting is as an administrator and speaker with a passion for raising Christian leaders to lead well both inside and outside the church. When I’m not teaching leadership seminars, working with our volunteers, recording training videos or preaching, you can find me exploring my favorite things: international cuisines, sunny places, and new business ideas with my husband Andrew.

I was raised in Fairfield County, CT and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut. My husband Rick and I married In 2003, and have two sons, Jeremiah and Caleb. I was a stay-at-home mom for several years, and during that time started co-leading the Moms of the Rock ministry. Love for ministry eventually led to joining the BRC staff in 2017 where I have the privilege of assisting with various aspects of adult discipleship.

I was raised in a pastor’s home where I learned the value of serving others and have been involved with church ministry since 1975. I serve as a Care Ministry assistant, helping people with practical needs so that they can grow as Christ-followers. With Gaylord, I lead our Seniors of the Rock ministry. I also serve as a Living Free facilitator, receptionist and help lead Moms of the Rock. Gaylord and I were married in 1974. We have 2 daughters and 8 grandchildren who are the joy of Mimi’s life.

Todd Kriewald

I first came to Black Rock in the 1980’s and was active with our softball team for many years. In 1982, I celebrated my baptism and became a member at Black Rock. I have served in a variety of ways through the years including as an “actor” in Christmas programs and lighting for various productions, and continue to volunteer as part of our Tech team. I have two adult sons, enjoy sports, music, and gardening, and am especially thankful to work here full time.

Jesus and the Gospel are my passion! I attended Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Penn., where I studied finance and played basketball. Upon graduation, I worked for several years in the corporate world before making the jump to work with BRC in 2017. It’s been awesome! I worked as a commercial and visual effects editor for nearly four decades, and eagerly bring my love for Jesus and experience in television and technical production to Black Rock Church’s TechArts Team. Along with team member Jim Bodine, we are responsible for the planning and maintenance of our sound, video & projection systems. I love getting to merge my God-given visual talents, as well as my love of music and worship in my work.

Moved to Connecticut from Northern Minnesota in 1991. Married Mark in 1996. We have two adult children Brianna and Joshua. Serve in the Fairfield Schools as an Occupational Therapist (since 2010). Established (2015) Shine Ministry, investing in families blessed with children with varying abilities. As our Care Pastor, Gaylord, or “Pastor G” as I’m often called, loves connecting people with resources that address their emotional, physical and spiritual needs. I coordinate our Living Free Support groups which offer healing and hope to those who are dealing with specific challenges in their lives. I also serve as the pastor to our Seniors of the Rock group. I married Sharon in 1974. We have 2 married daughters and 8 grandchildren. I also love basketball and worship music.

I joined Black Rock’s full-time staff in 2003 after spending three summers interning here in the youth department. I then served as High School Director for 11 years and then three years as the Communications and Serving Pastor. I now serve as the Executive Director & Missions Pastor. I enjoy almost every sport, working in the yard, and coaching sports. I married Lara in 2003 and we now live in Trumbull with our three kids, Blake (2010), Chad (2012), and Paige (2013).

I grew up at Black Rock and was involved in Student Ministries as a teen. I first worked in ministry at a non-profit in Jos, Nigeria. In 2019, I returned to CT and pursued a B.A. in Math and Economics from SCSU and joined BRC staff. Aside from planning some of the crazy games that we play at Student Ministries, I am passionate about teaching students about the Good News of God’s awesome love for them. I love hiking, running, and hunting for deals on Facebook Marketplace.

I was born and raised in Fairfield County and have attended BRC my whole life. After high school, I moved to South Florida where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Ministry. I met my joyous wife, Hannah, in college and got married in January 2016. We have two sweet boys, Líon and Blaze, who keep us active and full of wonder. For fun, I enjoy trips to NYC, surfing, working out, creating art, poetry, fashion, and consuming copious amounts of authentic Asian cuisine.

I’ve been a member at Black Rock since 1982 and have had the privilege in seeing and playing a role in the growth of this church. Through the years, I’ve served with the Kids, Missions, Men’s, Youth, Leadership and Community ministries and more. Most recently, I’ve helped give direction to our growing Prayer ministry. I am retired from the corporate finance and insurance industries and am now a writer. My wife, Eleni, and I have three grown children and two granddaughters.

I’ve been a member of BRC since 2004, along with my wife, Marta, and we’ve been married since 1986. We have 3 adult children, Hannah, John and Taylor. I am currently serving my second term as an Elder, have been on the Care Leadership Team, have participated in some Short-Term Missions trips, have co-led Starting Point/Next Chapter classes & facilitate a Community group in the Trumbull/Easton area. I currently work as a Sales Operations Manager at Charter Communications.

In 2005 I came to CT from NC along with my wife Gabby. We met as students at UNC-Chapel Hill. I grew up in a ministry family in KY and joined Black Rock staff in 2010 after a 10-year career as a research scientist. I serve in worship ministry and lead the team that helps our adults grow in following Jesus as we connect in discipleship groups and join a serving team. We live in Stamford with our kids Elsie and Owen where we enjoy cheering for the Red Sox and planning family adventures.

Being from the West Coast, I moved east after graduating from the University of Oregon. Once my son was born, I left the finance world and committed to being a stay-at-home mom. Always having a love for children, I started as the Summer Adventure Registrar in 2018 to still embrace this passion. Prior to joining BRC, I worked in various positions in Human Resources for Sikorsky Aircraft and Pfizer inc. I have a B.S. from the U. of New Haven and an Ed.M from Boston U. I married my beautiful wife, Karen in 1975, and have 3 grown daughters, and four grandchildren. I love learning about what makes marriages strong and healthy, and enjoy reading, music and playing most sports. My wife and I also mentor couples who are considering marriage and serving Jesus in this ministry.
