What is a Foundation Builder?
In 2025, we are committing to strengthening our foundation so that we can stand firm on the rock of Jesus
no matter what storms of life are going on around us. For more information on what it means to be a
foundation builder, watch Pastor Josh’s sermon from January 5 HERE.
What is our FOUNDATIONS sermon series?
During this sermon series, we are going to study the foundational truth of the Bible as stated in
Black Rock Church’s Statement of Faith. We are also providing a podcast, discussion questions,
and an activity to apply these foundational truths to our lives. See below for a copy of our
statement of faith and weekly resources.

Sermon Activity
A wise Foundation Builder builds upon the Rock.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
– Matthew 7:24-27
