Here in Ephesians 3, Paul helps his readers understand God’s eternal plan through Christ and how the Church has a calling and identity in that plan.
As we reflect on God’s plans for Black Rock Church, we are humbled to see how Christ continues to triumph over darkness and allow our church to be a light to so many. Christ has done more than we can ask or imagine throughout our 170 year history and HE IS NOT DONE. There are generations to come that will see the harvest of His plans, which are immeasurable.
Today, we can all play our part in His power working within this church for generations to come.
THROUGH THE GENERATIONS
1849: Black Rock Church began meeting and dedicated it’s first meeting house
1922: Rev. Charles MacDowell initiated a strong kids Sunday School program
1950: Black Rock Teenagers program began to reach hundreds of local teenagers
1968: Black Rock Church moved to our current location
1980s: Ministries like Summer Adventure and Pioneer Girls and Boys Brigade flourished
2000: Contemporary Worship services & our Sanctuary service were added
2014: We moved into our current church building
2019: A second floor was completed to accommodate growth and add more kids areas
Internship Campus & Housing For 6 Interns Annually
We desire to build into the future staff at our church and also equip future pastors to serve in New England. We have transformed the Stamford Campus into housing for six year-long interns for the duration of their work and training at Black Rock.

As we enter into a new season of ministry after the pandemic, we realize the importance of continually engaging our church through digital discipleship resources for the 167 hours a week beyond attending our Sunday services.The goal will be to create content to help families and adults not only grow on their own, but to also make disciples through relationships and groups at Black Rock.

Counseling & Family Support Center
A growing need within our younger generation is for biblical counseling and support groups as students and young adults navigate the stresses and peer pressure growing up in today’s society. Our vision is to make our Easton Campus (two buildings) into a facility that can host Black Rock endorsed counselors to help guide students through their formative years. One building will be set up for counseling and mentoring and the other building will be used for larger support group meetings and parent training.
Complete Paying Off Our Loan From 2014
In 2014, we moved into our newly renovated facility at 3685 Black Rock Turnpike. At that time, we had to take out a loan of $4,700,000. God has blessed us as we have seen thousands of people find Jesus here and join our church. In the last eight years, through your generosity, we completed the second floor for $7,500,000 and also paid down most of our debt. We are excited to announce we have been able to reduce our debt to just $800,000! Our goal is to pay this debt off by the end of 2022.
