Kimya was born and raised in Wheaton, Illinois. She moved to Connecticut and has been attending Black Rock Church since her senior year in high school. Kimya holds a BA in history from Nyack College, an MA in history from Iona College and is currently completing an MA in special education. She is married with four children and teaches middle school special education in Waterbury. Kimya has a heart for Kids ministry and has worked in a variety of positions within the Black Rock Kids ministry including the past ten years with the Summer Adventure summer camp. She has found that God has given her a passion for working with children of special needs and loves the opportunity to serve as one of the special needs coordinators.
