Cindy moved to Connecticut from Northern Minnesota in 1991 to care for a young boy who has autism and she came to Black Rock at the invitation of a long-time member. Her connection with a young adult group here led to the renewal of her faith and commitment to serving, membership and Baptism at Black Rock.
Cindy once served as a receptionist here and met her husband Mark while serving in the youth ministry. They have been married 20 years and have 2 children, Brianna (17) and Joshua (13). After a second career as an Occupational Therapist, she now works with children with special needs in Fairfield Public Schools. Her experience and love for this population also gave her a desire to minister to Black Rock families who have children with special needs. She now serves in our “Shine” ministry every Sunday guiding these families along their journeys.
In her spare time, she is an avid UConn Women’s Basketball fan, enjoys spending time with her family or on the sidelines as a soccer mom, watching a good family movie, reading, listening to music and hanging out with a good friend.
